September 2008 - Party Conferences
The Resolution Foundation held fringe events at all three Party Conferences on “The Care Crunch - how do we create a brighter future for older people”. The Foundation also held private meetings at the Labour Party and Conservative Party Conferences on “Financial Health: Drowning not waving?” Both write ups are available below along with a copy of the Care Crunch briefing which was distributed.

21-23 July 2008 - Redesigning Social Care Expert Groups I
The Foundation held a series of meetings with over 60 participants including representatives from the financial services industry, local authorities, care providers, policy makers and consumer groups to discuss and formulate a vision for the future of long term care provision for older people.

29 April 2008 - The Foundation Annual Conference: "Mapping Future Care"
Nick Clegg MP, David Willets MP, and Julie Jones, Chief Executive of the Social Care Institute for Excellence, joined the Resolution Foundation and nearly 100 stakeholders to discuss the issue of "Mapping future care". The discussion, chaired by Julia Unwin, Director of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, included a presentation of new analysis by Deloitte mapping the mixed markets of care funding and provision.

19 February 2008 - Launch of "Lost: low earners and the elderly care market"
The Foundation held a breakfast seminar to present the findings from the Foundation's first report on the elderly care market. The seminar discussion also considered the Foundation's approach, and the challenges ahead for the long term care reform agenda.

11 October 2007 - Launch of comparison website research
The Foundation hosted a seminar to launch their new report 'Compare & Contrast: How the UK comparison website market is serving financial consumers' and to discuss the findings and its proposal for a new voluntary code of practice for the sector.

25 September 2007 - Financial ill health: Is there a cure?
The Foundation held a joint meeting with AXA at the Labour Party Conference, with Treasury minister Kitty Ussher MP among the speakers.

29 June 2007 - Influencing financial behaviour and the role of generic financial advice
The Foundation recently hosted a seminar to discuss how generic financial advice can change financial behaviour.

23 May 2007: Generic financial advice and Personal Accounts
The Foundation hosted a seminar of financial advice and pensions experts to discuss how to develop "protocols" for delivering generic financial advice in the context of new Personal Accounts.

14 March 2007: The Foundation Annual Conference: Generic Financial Advice: From Vision to Reality
New research showing that the financial services industry will benefit from a proposed national financial advice service was launched at a high profile conference addressed by James Purnell MP and Ed Balls MP.

1 March 2007: Personal Accounts and Generic Advice
The Resolution Foundation hosted an expert policy workshop to discuss what form generic advice might take in the context of personal accounts and began to develop some "advice protocols" for delivery and content.

21 February 2007: Reforming the Social Fund
The Resolution Foundation hosted a policy seminar to discuss options for reforming the Social Fund by attracting private investment to expand the provision of affordable loans under the scheme.

Autumn 2006: Party Conference Events
The Foundation worked in partnership with Citizens Advice and the Smith Institute to co-host four fringe meetings at the 2006 party conferences.

6 June 2006: Pensions, retirement planning and advice needs
The Resolution Foundation held a seminar to discuss advice needs and pension reform. The findings of an evalutation of New Zealand's Retirement Commission, commissioned by the Foundation from the Pensions Policy Institute, were also presented.

7 February 2006: Closing the advice gap
The Foundation held a conference to discuss how to meet the financial advice needs of people on low incomes. The conference was addressed by Stephen Timms MP, the then Pensions Minister, as well as a number of other high profile speakers with an interest in this area.
