One nation divided? The challenge for Britain beyond Brexit

The recent referendum exposed huge fractures across Britain that went far deeper than voters’ attitudes towards the EU. From immigration to whether the gains from growth were reaching their community, voters’ concerns stretched well beyond the remit of our relationship with Brussels.

With the task of bringing the nation together again falling upon the new Prime Minister, what are the big economic, social and culture divides in modern Britain? Can government repair them and, if so, where should it start?

At an event in Westminster the Resolution Foundation will present new analysis on the living standards challenges in post-Brexit Britain, while Deborah Mattinson from Britain Thinks will outline new research on what people perceive Britain’s biggest challenges to be. Guest speakers will then offer their take on how to repair our fractured nation, before taking part in an audience Q&A.
