Time to catch up? Living standards in the next parliament

After the deepest squeeze in living memory, household incomes are finally recovering. But when can we expect living standards to return to their previous peak and what is the outlook for the next Parliament?

At an event at the Resolution Foundation’s central London headquarters, CBI Director-General John Cridland gave a speech on these issues setting out the role of employers in ensuring the gains from the recovery are widely shared, followed by a discussion chaired by Allegra Stratton.

The Resolution Foundation also presented a guide to living standards and the election, and new analysis of household incomes through the downturn and recovery.
