Barratt plans move into private sector, Inside Housing

One of the country’s largest house builders is planning to set up as a private landlord. Barratt, which has a turnover of more than £2 billion, believes its plans could provide around 1,000 new private rented sector homes in London a year. The move would be a first for a volume house builder setting up as a landlord without specific help from the public purse, writes Carl Brown in Inside Housing.
