Childcare is a key issue for all families, but especially those on low-to-middle incomes. With costs of childcare rising and incomes stagnating many families are being forced to question whether work really pays. The Resolution Foundation is investigating how changes to Tax Credits and in the wider economy will impact on working families.

A childcare market that is fit for purpose is one that can meet the needs of parents while sustaining the financial viability of a mixed economy in childcare. Therefore, this project will consult extensively with providers and parents as well as with government to develop a new model of childcare delivery fit for today’s working parents on low-to-middle incomes.
