Analysis and action on living standards
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Resolution Foundation’s research programme as our Deputy Chief Executive. The post holder will oversee all aspects of the Foundation’s research agenda and play a pivotal role in the wider running of an organisation seeking to understand and improve 21st Century Britain. They may also take up the role as the Foundation’s Chief Economist.
We’re looking for an exceptional candidate with significant experience of leading major research or policy programmes, and teams of high-performing researchers. Supported by our Research Directors, the post-holder will plan, manage and help communicate all strands of the Foundation’s research output, ensuring that we play a key part in helping Britain navigate the challenge facing many developed countries of restarting widely shared prosperity.
This is a high profile role, and we are open minded about whether candidates’ past experience was acquired in the UK or internationally, but the successful applicant will need to be comfortable working across a broad range of economic and social policy agendas including the labour market, taxes and benefits, housing, skills, macroeconomic policy, inequality and living standards. They will also demonstrate a first-rate understanding of quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques, excellent written and communication skills, and the capacity to direct research that results in impact and practical policy change.
The Deputy Chief Executive will also be responsible for wider corporate leadership roles, including engagement with trustees and a wide range of stakeholders.
Candidates with an extensive background in economic research and/or policy making will also be considered for appointment as the Foundation’s Chief Economist. Applications from those wishing to maintain an academic affiliation alongside the role are also encouraged.
