The seminar examined the challenges that the recession presents to low earners in relation to their household finances and discussed the opportunities for how these challenges might be minimised and overcome. The role that government, private, public and third sector service organisations can and should be playing was considered and participants explored ways low earners can be supported through the recession and into a period of recovery more generally. The speakers were Adam Clark, Transact, who shared the results from Transacts Annual Membership Survey and Matthew Whittaker, Resolution Foundation, who presented ‘Who are low earners?’. The seminar was chaired by Sophia Parker, Acting Director of the Resolution Foundation.
