Notes
Data is in fiscal years i.e. 1991 represents 1991-92 fiscal year.
‘Section 106 nil grant’ represents affordable homes built by developers as a condition of approval to build homes for the private market. These affordable units are built without government grant funding. ‘Homes England or GLA’ (Greater London Authority) represents affordable homes delivered with grant funding via the government’s main programme of investment in affordable housing (ie. the Social and Affordable Homes Programme and its predecessors). ‘Other’ category includes all other sources of funding, including among others, the use of Right to Buy receipts by local authorities and the Affordable Homes Guarantees scheme.
