The housing benefit system is increasingly falling short of covering Universal Credit claimants’ rents in the private sector.
Nearly half of privately renting families on Universal Credit do not have their housing costs fully covered by Local Housing Allowance (LHA), a number likely to go up with LHA currently frozen.
