Ricky Kanabar

Research Associate

Ricky is Associate Professor of Social Policy at the University of Bath.

Ricky’s research focuses on issues related to social mobility, ageing and health. He has worked with government departments in the UK and  acted as a consultant for the OECD. His work has featured in international peer review journals, major newspapers and media outlets. He places a strong emphasis on communicating findings to non-specialist audiences and engaging with policymakers.

In 2021 Ricky was appointed an academic expert by Eurofound and in 2022 joined the Economic and Social Research Council Management Board for the United Kingdom Household Panel Study. Ricky is dedicated to harnessing data for evidence-based policymaking.

Ricky obtained his BSc, MSc and PhD in Economics from the University of York.
