The impact of the covid crisis across generations

The COVID-19 crisis has cost tens of thousands of lives, millions of people’s livelihoods and upended everyone’s daily life. While younger generations have the lowest health risk from the virus, the Resolution Foundation’s Intergenerational Audit – the first comprehensive assessment of how the crisis has affected different generations across society – will provide fresh analysis showing they have the biggest economic hit from it.

How has the crisis affected different age cohorts in terms of their health, wealth and household incomes? How might the next phase of the crisis play out for different generations? And what can policy makers do to prevent the covid crisis causing long-term damage to people’s living standards?

To mark the launch of its Intergenerational Audit, supported by the Nuffield Foundation, the Resolution Foundation is hosting an interactive webinar to debate and answer these questions. Following a presentation of the key highlights from the audit, we will hear from leading experts on how the crisis has affected different generations – and how policy should respond. Viewers will be able to submit questions to the panel before and during the event.
